Heavy Tanks are a classification of armored vehicles. The classification consists of all large armored vehicles that exceed the size limit of the classification before them, and as such these vehicles are powerful and strong. During military excursions, heavy tanks are considered the vanguard of an assault and these vehicles often lead the charge as lesser vehicles and soldiers follow them. These tanks generally sacrifice mobility and maneuverability for better armour protection and equal or greater firepower than tanks of lighter classes.
While some versions are heavily effective and useful during battle in a variety of functions, the majority of the heavy tanks achieve their greatest, albeit limited, success when fighting lighter tanks and destroying fortifications. Mediocre heavy tanks often see limited combat in their intended roles, instead becoming mobile pillboxes or defensive positions.
